BOSTON (CBS) – Tom Brady said he was just being himself in a recent Funny or Die videothat has the Patriots quarterback losing his cool at a sporting goods store.

“You guys probably see that all the time from me out on the field; I know my teammates do,” Brady said of his temper, which is on display in the video that makes fun of his “Boston Accent”. “It was fun. You get asked to do different things at different times and it was a nice part of the offseason I’ll remember.”

“I’m glad it turned out well; you never know how they’re going to turn out,” said Brady. “A lot of my teammates like it, so we did a decent job.”

Vince Wilfork and Patrick Chung, who also spoke from the Patriots OTAs on Thursday, admitted they had yet to see the video. But receiver/safety Julian Edelman relayed the message through the media he thought Brady did better this time around than his appearance in the HBO show “Entourage” back in 2009.

“Julian is very critical of everything that I do,” Brady said with a smile. “I am very flattered that he likes it.”

Brady said it wasn’t hard to let his anger show in the video, although it did take him some time to warm up.

“I was laughing the whole day and they were like ‘no, you’ve got to get angry,’’ he recalled. “It was pretty much me being me. My teammates see me angry all the time. It’s pretty easy to get riled up; that part of the acting is pretty easy.”

“If you have to do something you’re not used to doing, that’s the hard part. That was pretty easy for me,” he said.

And as for his “Boston Accent,” Brady may not have one, but he still considers the Northeast his home.

“It’s hard to get the California out of me, but I’ve been living here going on my 13th year. This is my home,” he said. “I don’t think I’ll ever kind of take over that accent, but that’s probably a good thing.”
