After rolling over the Detroit Lions with a perfect 158.3 passer rating in a 45-24 beat-down on Thanksgiving, the Patriots quarterback was named AFC Offensive Player of the Week for last week. It is the 16th time he has received the honor… which is a lot.
Brady was 21 of 27 for 341 yards while the offense scored 28 straight points to close it out. It was Brady’s second perfect passer rating of his career, and he’s just the third quarterback (with Peyton Manning and Kurt Warner) to have hit the mark twice.
Brady is the second Patriots player to be honored by the league. Safety James Sanders won defensive player of the week honors with a pick-6 after beating Pittsburgh.
