The New England Patriots provided Tom Brady with a special gift on Monday.
A day off.
The quarterback is celebrating his 38th birthday, and he and the team won’t be back on the practice fields for training camp until tomorrow. But, given how vocal the three-time Super Bowl MVP and four-time Super Bowl champion was during the second day of full-pads practice in Foxborough, he’d probably rather be out there in front of 10,000 fans.
Brady finds himself in the midst of his 16th training camp with the Patriots, but he hasn’t looked affected by age or by his four-game suspension while working behind Gillette Stadium. He’s signed autographs and spiraled passes on the way to even going a full 11-on-11 session without throwing an incompletion.
And, considering the 10-time Pro Bowler and two-time NFL MVP is the current all-time holder of 18 postseason and Super Bowl records, it makes sense.
But a day off is a day off.
